VZN Blog Challenge With a Twist

A week or so after our previous blog challenge, many of those participating (myself included) found out pretty quickly how much each of us really need someone to be accountable to in order to keep ourselves on track with posting to our blogs on a regular basis.
Even with all the improvements we saw from our blog stats, and the interaction with others, without accountability it can be too easy to procrastinate. Before we knew it, some of us were right back to where we started. Other simply missed the daily interaction of moral support.
With that in mind, it is definitely time for another V7N blog challenge, but this time we are going to add a few twists.

The Ultimate Blog Challenge

* To complete the challenge, you need to post 30 times during April 2011.  This can mean you post twice one day and not at all the next, or you may choose to write in batches and schedule posts.  Choose your own strategy, but you’ve got to have 30 posts.  I can tell you from experience that posting throughout the month will get you a lot more traffic.
* Each post must have text (so don’t just grab a video–you have to add your own pithy thoughts) Minimum 100 words to count.
* No adult blogs, please, keep it PG.
* After you post, tweet your post and tag it with #blogboost so we can all find it, read it, comment on it, and re-tweet it!
* As often as possible, please go to the #blogboost page and take time to read and comment on the posts of others who are participating in the challenge.
* Have FUN! Keep us informed about your successes!

2011 April PAD (Poem-A-Day) Challenge

Reposted from here.

I may make updates to this post as we go along. If I do, I'll put a little "updated" message at the top of
the post with the date.

*****

This is the initial post for the 2011 April PAD (Poem-A-Day) Challenge, and it will be used to give the general guidelines for the 4th annual challenge.
Main Objective: Write some new poems during the month of April. I provide the prompts (and my own poetic attempt); you write the poems.

Dates:
April 1-30: Beginning at some reasonable time on the morning of April 1, I will provide a prompt. I will repeat this around the same reasonable time (usually between 8-11 a.m. Ohio-Georgia time) throughout the month.

May 5: Each participant will submit his/her five (5) favorite poems from the month. Rules for how to submit are included below.

July 4: After running the Peachtree Road Race in the morning (unless I get up super early), I will make an announcement of the top poems from the month and who the 2011 Poetic Asides Poet Laureate will be (and possibly a few other notes of recognition).

July 5: We'll set our sights on the fourth annual November PAD Chapbook Challenge. (Or so I hope.)
